My Untitled Season

There are seasons in life when something you’ve poured your heart into begins to unravel.
Sometimes slowly. Sometimes all at once.
Either way, you’re left standing at a threshold you didn’t plan for, holding pieces of something that once felt like home.
Over this past year, I’ve been walking through such a season.
And while I won’t speak to the specifics, I want to begin sharing what it’s teaching me because this is how I make sense of the unseen, how I turn endings into wisdom.
I’ve learned that closure doesn’t always arrive on a shared timeline.
That grief is deeply personal and has its own rhythm.
And it doesn’t always move in sync between people.
Sometimes we’re ready to let go long before someone else is.
Other times, we’re still holding on when another has already walked away.
It’s tender, this mismatch.
But it’s also human.
Not every path can be completed side by side.
Sometimes the kindest thing we can do
(for them and for ourselves)
is to honor where we are,
and to let the rest unfold without needing to walk each other to the end.
Some closures are quiet.
Some happen from afar.
Some are still happening.
And that’s okay.
And for now, my heart aches for a potential that couldn’t come to be.
And maybe that’s part of the story too.
Learning to release the endings we never got to write … together.
